5 Things I always have in my Trailer that aren’t Decoys

Andy Shaver, Stanfield Hunting Outfitters

1. Shovel

You can use it for a lot of things but I mainly use it to cover shit and toilet paper… always cover your turds, an outfitter in my area many years ago got bumped off some prime real estate for taking their morning deuce by the guys tractor and not covering it.

A shovel can also be pretty useful in muddy conditions or in deep snow.

2. Spare Tire & a Jack- DUH.

Zero explanation needed.

3. Extra batteries for the Spinners

We always try to charge everything before we use it but things happen and batteries go out so always carry backups!

Pretty good for headlamps too, and remember that battery life is greatly shortened in cold temps.

4. First Aid Kit

Hunting is a dangerous sport, things happen and you need to be prepared for the worst.

Might not help much if you blow a hole in your foot, but if you slam a bolt forward on your finger it sure is nice to have.

5. Trash Bags

Always clean up after your hunt! Hulls, shell boxes and water bottles go right in the trash bag after the hunt and this will also keep your trailer free from litter.

Don’t be an asshole, pick up your trash.
