SCWA Sets to Expand its Youth Camp Programs with Mega Raffle

At a time when hunter recruitment is continuing to fall, the South Carolina Waterfowl Association (SCWA) has set its sights on doing its part to bring youth into the sport. With the purchase of the historic Richardson Tract, SCWA is in the process of building the ultimate wildlife education center with shooting ranges, fishing areas, and upland bird habitat. Their initiatives range from education camps like Camp Woodie and Camp Leopold to fish and game fairs and even shooting competitions. Progress is currently underway to continue to expand, improve facilities, and give youth the opportunity to interact and fall in love with the outdoors.

In the spirit of conservation and to help with a great cause, SCWA recently announced its Mega Raffle. The goal is to raise money to help fund this project and inspire the next generation of hunters, anglers, and conservationists. This raffle is part of the ongoing fundraising effort to raise roughly $8.7 million to complete the Wildlife Education Center—a valuable resource open to anyone. In a world where most raffles and giveaways are deployed as marketing techniques, it’s refreshing to see your money going to a good cause, not to mention the prizes are pretty dang sweet.
